On Thursday 25th October 2010 eight members gathered together in my flat. Our topic this month was 'My Special Place.'
As usual, the general policy is that the title of the topic is for inspiration only and can be interpreted as widely as one wishes, and we were treated to the usual wide variety of lovely stories.
We returned to childhood mischief and then to a Writer's Summer School; from a cat's perspective to arboreal joy; from the seat of the Arts to a lonely seat by the sea; from the Scottish Highlands
to the wilds of Bradwell.
We also had the pleasure of the company of Lewis Button, the coordinator of the Creative Writing group in Leigh U3A, who had come along to visit with us. He told us of the different format of their own meetings and
read us a story and a poem that he had written for inclusion in 'Carousel', a book, published by a previous Writing Group.
Altogether, it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon with so much laughter; we really put the 'fun' into Writing for Fun.
