The No. 22 - Gerry Miller

Bert the bus driver of the number 22 was tired but he could still see well ahead on the road. A little girl ran across the road way in front. She was closely followed by a little dog running after her. He mused about the grumpy passengers on his bus. ‘Why was everyone so grouchy today?’ No wonder Bert felt lack lustre; he did so like chatting to the passengers.

Bert drove around the corner and suddenly he brought the bus to a swerving halt it rocked gently from side to side, passengers started to scream. The driver struggled and avoiding a very close accident he shouted ‘IDIOT’. The passengers stood up to see the problem and all of a sudden they were laughing. There in the middle of the road was the ‘Naked Rambler’, who, turning round bowed to the bus and its passengers and then headed off. The emergency stop was not what it had seemed. The moods of the passengers lifted and Bert thought maybe today might not be such a bad day after all.
