From The Mist Of Time - Reg Pound
Do you remember long ago
In your Mum’s front room?
She had gone out for the night,
And we sat there in the gloom.
Glenn Miller on the radio,
Was playing ‘In the Mood’.
I said ‘Are You?’ you said ‘Yes’.
We kissed, and bill and cooed.
It was the start of our romance,
Evenings full of joy.
And just before the year was out,
We’d a bouncing baby boy.
The name for him was not in doubt
We had to call him Glenn.
So we could easily recall
That moment ‘Where and When’.
As if to celebrate each year,
Another child we had,
Each one a name from Miller’s band,
Ray, Eddie, Tex and Chad.
And so on in the next few years,
Finished with the misters.
Girls, Patti, Maxene and LaVerne
Glenn’s singers, the Andrew Sisters.
Now old, we sit here holding hands,
Happily reminiscing,
Of days when we were ‘In the Mood’,
And what we are now missing!
