M25 - Diane Silverston

Joanna was stationary, transfixed. There in front of her was the board with the digits standing out, clearly against the background.

She had got to make a decision, she couldn't just stay there. Either she had to surge forward and take the plunge, or turn tail and make her way back. What was she going to do?

Joanna hadn't moved for what seemed like ages, but was in reality about 10 minutes. The board still in front of her, impinging its information into her mind.

She needed to pull herself together, quickly make a decision and stick to it.

Joanna was motionless. She needed to have faith in her abilities, trust herself. She had planned for this weeks ago. Why hesitate now?

Suddenly she decided, it was now or never, she could do this, of course she could.

She moved forward, the board getting nearer, the digits larger.

A deep breath, head up high, a quick look and Joanna bravely entered Music Room 25 for her piano exam.
