Dear Agony Aunt - Joan Bond
Dear Agony Aunt,
What can I do,
Please help me to be fair.
We widows who are needful of Tender Loving Care.
I met a man on holiday,
we walked and talked and shared
woodland walks and Lakeland hills, just like a couple there.
He wished to continue our friendship on the return to our homes,
was honest said he was married, happy not alone.
I foolishly agreed because I found that by this time,
I really really liked him and wished that he was mine.
We only meet for an hour or two a couple of times a month.
I know it's futile but cannot stop,
but when it comes to the crunch.
I know it's the old old story I try to fill my life
but I cannot see anyone but him.
Course I wouldn't hurt his wife.
They will be retiring soon and moving far away
I'll be back to 'Square one' at the end of the day.
Should I accept it as pleasurable that I have loved for awhile
and walk away just grateful
with a tight lipped smile
or should I get knotted and angry taking the 'stuff you' view.
Tell me dear agony auntie . . . What shall I do?
