Romance - The Chat Up

Romance with me, come dance with me
Go On baby take a chance with me.

Love me true, please love me do
There's no one in the world but me and you.

Given time, you will be mine
Our tangled bodies will entwine.

It's our first date, I just can't wait,
You know you're destined to be my mate.

I'll take this vow, that years from now,
Our love will grow I do not know how.

When we kissed, you did not resist
You had seven Vodkas so perhaps you're pissed.

I'll sing you songs and right your wrongs,
This line romance to us belongs.

Party II - The Cure

Soon they were wed in Barkingside
The callow youth and his pregnant bride.
The reception in a local pub
Her Mum provided all the grub
There was ale, champagne and whisky too.
They sang and danced the whole night through

His best man told loads of jokes
Of things they did as younger blokes.
Her Nan kept shouting, "What was that?"
Her Dad said, "Listen you deaf old bat."

Time to go at end of day
Friends all cheered them on their way.
To a honeymoon on the Isle of Man
In a boarding house run by his old Gran
They could only stay for just one week
ln the bed with a constant creak.

Back home to their one room flat.
Where baby came and a tabby cat
He worked eight hours every day
And gave his wife all his pay

Once a week out with the lads
Now most of them were also Dads
Weekends he took her to the club
Made a change from the local pub.

They lived out their lives of drudgery
The cure for Romance, Matrimony.
