October 2010
When Pete gave me my two pictures, the one that appealed to me most was the one with a pretty bouquet of mixed flowers, the dominant being lilies.
Everybody must love the perfume of the pretty little white flower, Lily of the Valley. There are of course many other lilies, amongst them being Turks-cap, Tiger lilies, which of course are very popular, and tree lilies. Of course, water lilies are a must in everyone’s fish pond. Some varieties of lilies also come in red and yellow, some of which are poisonous to cats.
Of course Lily does not only apply to flowers, does it Pete? My neighbours name is Lily. Lily is 92, she is tiny, real Grandma like, you know – round gold framed glasses and white curly hair. Lily is only 4 ft l0 ins tall; I call her little legs, but she doesn’t mind, she just looks at me and gives me a little grin. I like taking Lily out, our conversations are quite inspiring; last week she told me whilst living in America, how, as a pillion passenger, she completed the Route 66, and that was just one of her many adventures. Lovely Lily, in spite of her 92 years, she insists on coming to the Tai Chi with me, and she really enjoys it. We put a chair next to her in case she feels a little unsteady, but she won’t use it, well, only when she thinks we are not looking! Lovely Lily!
