On Thursday 24th June six members gathered in Pall Mall, and the subject for this meeting was, ‘A day at the seaside.’
Our stated intention is never to treat the topic too literally; it should used purely as a source of inspiration to write, and not be restricting in any way.
In consequence, we had a variety of delightful tales of day trips and holidays from the past – from Cockney visits to Southend to a Life-boat Station in Scarborough; from the sun-kissed beaches of Crete to an ancient steam train to Ventnor.
Once again, there was some beautifully prepared writing and quite lively discussion, prompted by the memories it invoked.
