Suspicious - Patricia Chisnall

Caroline Flack, TV Presenter and past winner of Strictly, has been found dead at home. She was 40 years old. This sad and tragic news made me think about what will happen next. The media are already all over it and there will be much speculation over how, when, and why. Was anyone else involved or was it by her own hand? I suspect that any past indiscretions will be dragged up and dissected. Former loves will be interviewed and her family hounded, their lives not their own for quite a while until the next 'celebrity' falls apart. Before the Internet and social media were celebrities still hounded by the press? Maybe they were but, even if they weren't, it hasn't stopped newspapers still pulling apart the lives and' deaths of celebrities that died years ago. Did Marilyn Monroe commit suicide or was she murdered by someone employed by the Kennedys? Did Elvis Presley really die on the toilet? Was Michael Jackson a peodophile or did he just like children? Our own late Princess Diana has had her share of conspiracy theorists writing about their suspicions, ruining the lives of her children and those who loved her.

Throughout history there have been rumours, inflation of truths about people in the public eye. What does it matter what people do in their own homes and in their private lives? What business is it of ours? Caroline Flack must have been a troubled soul to have taken the step that she did but] don't know that and neither does anyone else but it won't stop the media making the most of this tragedy. It must stop. Let the deceased lie in peace.
