Déjà Vu - Sue Barker

As Dave walked through the door he felt like he'd been here before. No it was more than a feeling, he could have told you the colour of the plush carpet beneath his feet and the pale green of the oriental wallpaper decorating the foyer.

Dave hadn't been here before but the prickle of anticipation was like the first time you go on a rollercoaster, a slight sick feeling but waiting for the adrenalin to kick in. He was greeted like a long lost friend, although the receptionist had never met him before. He gave her his credit card and then he entered the door on the right, exactly as he knew it was.

The tension in the room was palpable; no-one looked at him, he could have been invisible. He circled the room and everything was as he expected; beautiful young women so glamorous, exposing the odd glimpse of breast or thigh depending on the cut of the dress. Older, distinguished men in smart suits sitting in attendance.

It was all so familiar; had he been here before? He couldn't help questioning himself but although it felt as if he had he knew he'd never been to this town before.

He finally chose his seat. Glancing to his left he saw the most gorgeous creature he'd ever seen. A smile sneaked across his face as he realised what was going to happen next. Had it happened before? Or did it just feel like it? The lights dimmed and the familiar sensation filled his head.

Excitement, anticipation, expectation, all wrapped up together. The red head to his left turned towards him and advanced. The music began and she leant in close and whispered her breath like a feather tickling his ear. 'Would you like me to dance for you?' It's £100 a time, funny that, Dave thought. I knew she would say that. Déjà Vu? Not flaming likely, it's just me going to yet another high class lap dancing club, Dave thought to himself.
